Awards

Recognition of outstanding work in the area of outreach and engagement is supported through academic awards from various University and external sources.

University Outreach and Engagement encourages review of these awards and promotes regional, national and international acknowledgement of Michigan State University's accomplishments in the four dimensions of quality outreach—significance, context, scholarship, and impact—as outlined in the 1996 MSU publication Points of Distinction: A Guidebook for Planning and Evaluating Quality Outreach.

In all of its work, University Outreach and Engagement emphasizes university-community partnerships that are collaborative, participatory, empowering, systemic, transformative, and anchored in scholarship.
