Evidence-based Practice
University-Community Partnerships (UCP) promotes the development and use of evidence-based models and interventions to improve the ability of those working on issues related to individuals, families, groups, neighborhoods, and communities. Evidence-based practice means using research to inform policy and practice. A commitment to this type of practice means continuously collecting data to evaluate program outcomes and using that data to improve future practice strategies and interventions.

Multidisciplinary Community-based Research and Evaluation
University-Community Partnerships (UCP) researchers and staff recognize that most social issues are complex in nature and therefore require a multidisciplinary approach. As a result, they work with faculty and staff from a variety of departments on many of their community-based research and evaluation projects.
Please contact Robert Brown, Associate Director for Community Engagement, University-Community Partnerships, if you are interested in creating a multidisciplinary team around a community issue.
