University-Community Partnerships (UCP) provides the following services to MSU faculty and community partners:

Services for MSU Faculty

Broker and facilitate university-community partnerships: UCP brings together community groups with faculty teams to engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary, community-based research on issues of mutual interest.

Connect faculty with faculty to encourage multidisciplinary research: UCP facilitates the development of networks of MSU faculty who work in Detroit, Flint, Lansing, Grand Rapids, and the Upper Peninsula to create greater communication and research opportunities through collaboration.

Research and evaluate community-based programs and issues: UCP works together with community and faculty teams on community-based multidisciplinary research and evaluation initiatives in a number of areas such as PreK-12, mental health, human services, and government. UCP also assists its partners in locating funding opportunities or helping with grant-writing. View Recent Initiatives for examples.

Conduct asset/outcome evaluation training (incorporating evidence-based practice): UCP provides capacity-building training on asset development and outcome evaluation to individuals or groups in areas such as education, mental health, human service, business, and government.
